I may be looking to up size from a Blazer Bay 1906, if there is a better platform.
Looking for recommendations.

I have a 24' Blue Wave Pure Bay. Only thing I will add, go 24'. No one ever said I wish my boat was smaller.

Eh just drop 150k and go get a Young or Yellowfin since you want the “best”.
Lot of variables there between 20-24 ft. Budget and intended use would maybe narrow things a bit. Otherwise everyone will just come and tell you what boat they run and how it’s the best.

Some will say they can’t handle a 24’ bay boat but I can launch and retrieve mine faster than most do with much smaller rides.
Nobody ever wishes they had a shorter boat or less horsepower.
Budget?
BJ
PF
BWave
Majek
Haynie
Tran
YF
Billfish
Morada

I have a 2006 2400 Ranger bay and I love it. The new bluewaves are fire tho.

<40K, not looking for a new boat.

You could maybe get a new 21' frontier for that if it were light on rigging, and do a little rigging in the coming years.

Sheaffer 24. Best hybrid bay boat I ever owned.
NVM didn’t see your budget.

Guys shite on Aluminum boats, but my Avid 23fs is awesome. I have people not even realize the thing is an aluminum boat until it is doing 50mph with a 150...

Alot here are acting like u gonna drop 75k plus....
Look here are 2 excellent boats
Sportsman 227 masters
Sea pro 228 bay series
Pick one...
I have a 2018 sea pro 228 w/ suzuki 200...boat is a beast and a fishing machine. I must admit, I wanted the other one(sportsman) at first but I'm happy with my decision....

I'd love to have a Blazer Bay 2170, but even the old used ones have gotten pricey.

I have 22' Pathfinder w/200 Suzuki 4 stroke. Love it. Ulterra trolling motor, one power pole. Fast, good in skinny water. Can get out to the reef and a bit further when not too sporty. Would recommend.

Price dependent but Pathfinder,Triton, Everglades and Blue Wave are about as good as gets in a “normal” dudes price range lol

Tidewater
I have one and am very pleased. Dry as hell ride.
Their price has been ticking up a bit as has their fit n finish but still far more reasonable than the obvious high end boats.
The casting platform is larger than almost every boat you’ll consider.
ETA: don’t let the $46k fool you. That’s bone arse stripped. With decent goodies, your north of $60k fairly quickly.

I threw them in because you can get a good slightly used one for 60 or so and that 243 is one fine arse boat.

Yea the hybrids are stupid. I rode in a 243 a few times last summer and thats a fine fine boat. Once i sell my Sailfish, that will be my next boat. If i wanted to go skinnier i’d buy the pathfinder or the Triton.
