What's the best AR scope for the money without breaking the bank?

I'm not sure what breaking the bank is to you, but I have a vortex strike eagle on mine and I really like it for what I do with it.

There is no "best scope" for an ar, its really all application driven. Some people like shooting red dots at 300 yards, others would prefer to use a scope.

I think the primary arms 1 to 8 power scope for 400 bucks is a great deal, and you can ring steel out to 500 or so if you practice enough.

For me it would depend on barrel length. If you're running a 16" AR, I'd go with a 1-4x or a 2-7x. If you're running an 18" or 20", you could probably up the magnification a bit more. There is no "perfect" scope as people have mentioned because it's going to depend on application. For a good value buy, I really like Redfield scopes. But that's just my take.

I went with a Vortex 2.5-10x32 PST FFP scope. I like it.

Not the best but a good bargain setup.

Bushnell 3-12x40 with 223 reticle and free one piece offset scope rings for $119.

I have the Bushnell 1x4 and it works. Nothing fancy. Optics are clear with no haze.

My preference is for a 1-4 or fixed 3x or 4x on my 223 ARs but if you want high magnification that's a good price.

I just bought a strike eagle after looking around for a while. It's a 1-6x and has illuminated reticle... kind of a 2 in 1. I like dat me

I just bought a Burris AR-536 this morning from SWFA. List price was $399. I used their 110% best price guarantee for the same scope I found on Ebay (had to be brand new in the box and sold by a company) for $269 and got mine for $257.
