I recently planted Bermuda seed about 3 weeks ago and they have started to germinate as of about a week ago. Any idea on when would be a good time to fertilize the seedlings? If I had to guess, they are probably a quarter inch tall in some areas, and just starting to sprout in others.

I saw some new seed and sod granual fertilizer the other day at Home Depot that made the claim that it would not harm your new grass or fresh sod. That's what I would buy and just follow the directions. It was time released type fertilizer. I think it was called starter fertilizer.

Give a little time for root development so the plant can better utilize it. Absent a root system, the plant will not pick up as much. I've never read this but seems logical. Someone correct me if this is not the case.
