Having a yen for one of these lately. Any reports from owners on what you like/dislike about it ? Not sure which model yet - FS, M-9, or one of the A1 styles with rails. Heard some don't like the triggers, but my Sig has DA/SA and I'm ok with that, although heard the DA is long and heavy.
Thanks

Don't do it to yourself.

I'm a Sig guy AND military. They made me carry an M9. While it isn't a terrible weapon, you would be far better served with a Glock 17, M&P or Sig P226, period. End of story.

Some people shoot them very well, but the vast majority of U.S. military upon whom they are forced, detest them.

You've been advised. Carry on.

I've got one. Very reliable, but the recoil is weird. It pushes my grouping to the right pretty hard.

Incredibly fun to shoot. Very low recoil. Feels great in the hand and very accurate. I've put thousands of rounds through mine and have yet to have a FTF or FTE. Plus it is one sexy beast.

The trigger IS heavy and has a long pull if you go DA on the first round. After that it's pretty effortless. Of course you always have the option to cock the hammer yourself on the first round eliminating this slight nuisance.

I love mine and think it's great for the range or home defense/truck gun but I don't think I would carry it. It's a little long and a little heavy.

I've shot a few of them.

It's the only handgun I've ever shot that I can shoot as well as my blackhawk.

I have the M9. It's the most accurate gun I own. I wouldn't bother trying to conceal it because it's too big. Along with a 1911, I think everyone should have one in their collection.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like you love it or hate it. Pros usually accuracy, reliability, and low recoil. Cons seem to be size/weight and trigger, although I hear you can change trigger/hammer spring to help. Plan to shoot one in 2-3 weeks to check it out. Other opinions always welcome

Military guys hate them because the ones they use have been abused, repaired, and put back in service.

I've got the 92 INOX and I love it. Very accurate for me. Very crisp slide and a comfortable grip. Do it.

Get one. Solid, reliable, accurate, and if you want a better trigger just order the kit from Beretta that gives you the solid metal trigger and lighter spring. I did for mine and it's an easy drop-in. Still a long DA but much lighter and very smooth.

ETA: I'm military too and 90% of the doofs complaining about them either have virtually no training with them or complain that we should have kept the M1911 (even though the switch was made before most of these SM's were born). The M9 is a very good combat pistol, the Army has tested it against a Glock too with no real significant advantages displayed by the Glock in terms of reliability, accuracy, or durability.

^^^ This

Also military and I'm not a huge fan. Sold mine a long time ago because there's better pistols out there. I'm not saying it's a bad pistol but it's not for me. I can't wait for the Army to field a new pistol.

I almost bought a 92, but ended up with a CZ 75 SP-01. It's a little on the heavy side, but I love mine.

very accurate gun. The slide is so smooth. Almost like ball bearings. The ONLY thing negative I have to say is it is pretty heavy.

A fine weapon

You didn't mention what your intended use is.

If it's for plinking or use as a range toy, it's a fun pistol.

For "serious" self-defense use (all self defense usages will be pretty serious), you've been given some really good advice by those advising against it. It's not that a person can't defend himself with one -- it's that there are a lot of better options available.

I've had one for about 25 years. It rarely leaves the gun safe. If I were to ever sell any handguns, it would be one of the first to go since it just doesn't fill any role for me.

CCW or home defense? If I didn't already have a Glock Clock my 92FS would be my next choice on the bedside table.
