I agree that Toledo will peak and valley like the rest. However, there's not much you can do about having several years of bad spawns due to weather, natural predators, etc.
That study I linked shows just how important mortality rates are during the spawn as well as catching and releasing the trophies while catching and keeping the medium sized fish.

I keep trying to tell this to all of the negative, complain about everything, sore loser types. Ya know, the kind that bitches about someone's picture of their limit on Facebook saying they're "killing the lake".

I have fished guntersville lake many times, never noticed the numbers being down, always done very well there
