Bike needs new tires but are there any advantages to putting on aftermarket rims as well?

Yes, you go faster because your wallet will be lighter.

Seriously though, someone may have a better answer, but I don't know of any real advantages they would give.

I like stock rims and tires so I don't get too brave and tear my 4wheeler up going through something I shouldn't.

I think aftermarket wheels only really make a difference weight-wise. If you are going with a bigger, heavier tire, aluminum wheels might get some of the gained tire weight back off of the bike. It would be easier for the bike to turn them.

you gotta go with the new 14" wheels and the 32" swamp dogs or whatever the latest tire is baw.

just kidding. When I bought ITP ones for my foreman the front offset was different and the tires stuck out way past the fenders/mud flaps. I later put the stock wheels back on and it was not so bad even with slightly bigger than stock tires.
