Can I buy a stripped lower out of state? New Mexico specifically.

Ah? It will be called in as rifle, pistol, other. Most transfers will be called in as other. Although unlikely, the atf could cause you problems if the lower was a "rifle" and you assembled it in the form of a pistol. Law, rules, know them before you spout this stuff.

I'm going to sell off or change my RR ar. I'm going to do a complete build. So, I need a lower, trigger, pistol buffer, upper, bcg, barrel and tac rail. Buying a new upper and picking other instead of rifle or pistol would cause me to be need to be in LA to purchase, right? With the sb15, new lower bought as other, and a 10" barrel, I don't need to file it as a SBR?

I sincerely doubt that there is a new stripped lower anywhere that is being sold as a rifle. They should all be sold as "other" so it most likely won't be an issue for him.

I called the class 3 dealer back home and got the run down on a lot of the info. I'm just going to buy a complete sbr in 300 blk from them and a 30 cal suppressor. The Daniel defense sbr and gemtex sandstorm will run close to $3200 after paying for both stamps. Sound about right?

That way I have a suppressor for my 308, 300 blk, and all the 5.56 guns. Plus a SBR suppressed.

Only bad thing about buying a factory sbr is the wait, it's a normal form 4 so you'll have to wait 5-6 months for the stamp before taking possession of it. Building a sbr with a form 1 lower will save you a few months if you want.

Also why the sandstorm? I go with a saker or specwar from silencerco for half the price and the same or better performance. Or get the silencerco omega and beat the snot out of the sandstorm for around the same price.

Agreed. Saker has an innovative mounting system and is silencerco's flagship. And the specwar is just built like a seamless tank (nothing fancy, just freaking solid suppression).

I'm so close to going forward with the Omega, b/c of the ASR mounting system.

Thanks for the info about those brands. I'll check them out. My BIL has the sandstorm and really likes it. He told me he bought it because of how accurate it is. They explained the wait time to me. I'm not in that big of a hurry. On the next ar I'll build it.
