Anyone use a shotgun shell as a call?

My dad use to do this long time ago, when we were hunting in gueydan

I used to know an old man that lived on Caddo Lake that would make wood duck calls out of shot gun shells when I was very young. I wish I knew how to do it just for the "cool" factor.

I pickd up this woody call from Mayday calls. One sweet call. Mine uses a Winchester high brass

That does not look like something made on the fly. I was thinking the "cool" factor cam from making a call from a spent shell at the last minute.

I have made wood duck calls out of them. Get it right and they sound pretty close to a squealer...
