Anyone know anything about fishing Amite River?

Me and my son fished Amite River for the fist this past Friday. I boated 4 bass and missed many more. We started off fishing a frog in the lilies, and then went to a black worm later that morning. It looks to be a great place to fish. Anyone here had any luck fishing there?

I have herd the fishing has been a little better, we might finally be overcoming the fish kills

I've pulled some small channel cats near the train bridge at the Frenchtown conservation area.

I have only ever fished for catfish on the Amite.
