It seems like it would be great if hunters and fishermen could have a site to go to, by parish or region, to post something they legally caught or killed but can’t use so others might enjoy it. Anyone know anything? I know about hunters for hungry and also that hunters for hungry has teamed up with some processors. I’m taking about a place where I can post that I shot a hog and it’s yours to come pick up and process if you want. Free of course. Not a welfare site. Helping each other site.

I love the concept but I’d never accept meat from someone that I don’t know well enough to know how they treated the meat after the kill. I know too many guys that soak their deer meat in ice water for days.

You can also try your area churches. Many will have daily meals for the poor or provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas for the poor. I donate deer to 2 churches in my area that do this. They both want it ground up so I do this myself and freeze it in quart zip loc bags for them. I am told it is very popular and highly requested

Food bank. When we fished for Central High School we had a tournament every year. Can goods is the entry fee and all fish under 2 lbs got the knife and bagged. We took the entry fee and fish to the food bank. They always said it was the best donation of the year.
