What are the new rule changes?

I know one of them involves making "youth" choose between either the youth or regular divisions, not allowing them to participate in both. The new rules/regs should be out in the next week or so.

One week until Captains' Party/Calcutta registration. CCA LA STAR has a huge mangrove, probably new state record, Rudy hanging in third.

Last years CHS Alumni, friend of my wife was fishing rocks inside Caminada Pass just messing around and caught a STAR tagged redfish. Did not place in rodeo, but won star boat.

Yessir. We are launching out of Venice and will end up in Fourchon for the weigh in on Saturday afternoon. Stoked to say the least. Feel pretty confident we can make a big splash if the weather cooperates. Just wish they had a grouper division.

Hope it stays that way! The more people that go offshore gives me a better chance to clean up on the Inshore side!

You tell me!

I'll have it with me, but if one morning y'all have a spot on the boat, I'd be happy to take it!

Has anyone been fishing the beaches or the bays the last 1 or 2 weeks? How is the water looking?

Last I heard, the water was looking better than it has since early May. I was down there 2 weeks ago and water in the marsh and behind the island was still dirty, but moving in the right direction.

Fishing was slow the last day I was there (7th), but I heard of people catching limits in the first trough off the beach early in the am on live shrimp. Tons of school trout in the bay behind Elmers too.

Flounder has been elusive. . . I caught my 1st of the year a couple weeks ago. Hoping to hit up a few of my known flounder spots and see if they've since taken up residence!

water was crystal clear this weekend. we ran from the island to the barges near fourchon and the water was beautiful. boats were stacked up along elmers like an invasion was about to happen. damn trout didn't stand a chance

we went to 4 bayous saturday afternoon and caught some hammer trout on minnows. slow bite, but the ones you caught were 2 to 3lbs each.
