Caught this 8+ incher on a worm this morning by the dock. Lunch.

This is brackish water off Chef Pass; I bet the freshwater areas of Bayou Sauvage hold way more.

Beautiful fish.

Wish I still had my aquarium. He would be a resident.

What y'all call a chinquapin, is called a shellcracker in AL, N FL, and GA. The only other thing someone around here might call one, is a redeared sunfish.

I took my 3 kids to Lake Verret today. Beautiful weather and wildlife. It never gets old spotting eagles and got some good close looks at them.

Apparently they bream haven't turned on there yet. Picked up only a single bream and a handful of catfish. Spent most of my time fixing problems for my 5 and 11 year old. Called it after lunch.

The landing was pretty packed. Everyone I talked to seemed to fair about the same. One fella had about 2 dozen catfish.
