I'm headed to the camp this weekend to set up feeders and cameras. Will really feel it once we get a cool front.

I've been baiting and running cameras for weeks. Have two bow sets hung but need to do some trimming around one and then I'll be ready for Louisiana

Still need to get up to Mississippi and get a bow set hung up there

yep... going out to the camp on thursday(lol... damn y'all louisiana baws got me saying this now!) to finish putting together my new tripod shimanocurado was generous enough to help me with. Got too damn hot on us, now that it's cooler I can finish it.

gonna put out a feeder and a couple cameras as well. No teal to hunt so I'm focusing on deer.

Won't be cleared to pull back my bow for at least another month. Did get a ground blind and one stand hung, cams and salt licks out. Had a decent 8/10 point watch me swinging a cane knife for an hour. He was in beans 150 yards away so didn't get a great look but he was outside the ears by an inch on both sides and last tine was at least 5 inches. Only have 1 more stand to hang once doc gives me the green light. Found one hell of a staging area that I'm keeping a secret until I can hunt.

Too damn hot. First sign of fall, and I'll be raring to go.

won't happen for me until we get a good cool snap. The temp has definitely gotten more bearable but still haven't had those couple cool days. shite my spider/september/suprise/kingscrown/lycoris lillies haven't made an appearance yet. last year they started in late Aug.

The small sugar beet blocks results are mixed. They don't care for them much on one place but others they hammer them. Where I use to hunt in the swamp, anything peanut butter was gonna be a favorite.

I started doing mineral sites in late June and sprinkling corn in different places just for cameras and inventory.

If the rain will quit I may switch to rice bran soon.

A local feed mill makes a "hog ration" feed that actually makes an excellent deer bait. It's rice bran, molasses, cracked corn, soybeans, and minerals in a feed type powder. Haven't found anything yet that doesn't love it from livestock to pigs, deer, coins and opossums.

Whenever I walk out my house and have to turn around and go back for a light jacket..... Then I will feel the deer fever.

Teal season is killing me tho. Were stacking birds and its making me itch for Nov 12th. Im gonna be mad at em.

Big time. I'm up in Minnesota. Woke up this mornin and it was 43 degrees out. Bow season starts Saturday. Been seeing deer and turkey out by the dozen. It's making it damn hard to focus here at work!

Yes, I have spent the last four evenings moving stands, setting up new stands, clearing, cutting, plowing, planting, corning, rice bran-ing, soy-beaning, setting up cameras, looking at new locations. After this weekend Ill be ready to go on 3 spots. A big food plot with a feeder and box blind for the wife and kids and rainy drizzly days. A double ladder over looking two draws coming together at the edge of pines and hardwoods. A climber overlooking edge of a cut over with a skinny hardwood draw parrelling it. Need it find one more spot for another double ladder on the edge of some short pines that's next to a creek I got UP here and ill be readY. Having trouble figuring out how theY come thru o set it up.
