Thinking about going out there this weekend. Any idea what to look for if launching by boat @ hwy 90.

Any idea for general idea on where to go/what to look for? We had an area in mind, but with the river level dropping it may be dry now.

Honey Island area. Go pick up some Pogies at the mouth of Bayou Liberty on your way.

Just looking for flooded timber off the main river? Or should I look for little canals leading back into the swamps?

My step dad owns honey island swamp tours. When he has a chance, he just paddles a pirogue down to the closest swamp area and usually has two baskets in a couple of hours.
Eta: definitely not in the river.
