More specifically one with the T-wing system like the Tatula or Zillion. I'm intrigued but I'm also wondering if marketing is reeling me in. In theory it looks like they should cast better.

I don't own one, but have used a tatula. They are great reels. Pretty flawless casting, smooth, good construction. They are a little on the heavy side compared to a lot of reels these days though.

I'm an unapologetic shimano fanboy but I don't think anyone out of diawa, abu, shimano or 13 makes a bad reel once you get past the $150 range.

I've née wondering the same thing. I'm stuck between a Daiwa Tatula SV and a Shimano Curado

All I own. Tatula's are the best reels I have ever put in my hand. I still have 2 old Advantage models (discontinued) that are almost 20 years old and have never been broken down and cleaned. They cast and reel like the first day I bought them.

Have 7 now with 2 Zillion SVs on the way. I've never liked a reel as much. I have variations of the CT and Type R

I had two. Both worked great for one year and turned to shite. It took them apart and cleaned and lubed and they still suck. I have no idea why they failed so quickly.

I swear by the old Curados but my son told me about the Tatula and how far he could cast it. I thought he was full of shite. I threw the one he was talking about - he wasn't. Bought him the CT Tatula. I refuse to back the boat off any further for now.

I might have to get me one too.

These people always seem to have the best price.

Sportsman's Outfitters

Buy one, get reward points, then buy another one...

So each reward point = $1?
So basically buy 2 for the price of 1?

Naw $1 = 1 point. 200 points = $5 off, 400 points = $10 off, and 600 points = $20 off. Refer a friend who spends $100 and get $10 off.

What you mean? OB seems to be pretty split on baitcasters.

You are "thinking" people out of a reel. It was a joke

Zillion is the best reel I've ever owned. Tatula is excellent for slinging light baits against the wind. I've never owned a Shimano in my life. Over priced crap

I'm a shimano man, but last year there was a sale on the Tatulas and I picked up two. Love them so far, smooth casting and reeling.
