Heading there Saturday and hoping it's better than 3 weeks ago. Anyone know if they've started to chase shad in the creeks?

Fwiw, I'm lurking your thread. I may slip off Friday with my boss to fish it.

I haven't heard much, I'm just itching to get one more trip in before hunting season really takes off.

Same here.

I'm going to be overly optimistic and try to focus on shallowish grass with this little cool front. I'm sure it will be an epic fail, but I hate fishing summer patterns.

Two weekends ago I fished a club tourney and only caught 4 keepers for 7 pounds. Only took 9.8 to win, usually takes at least 15 or 16. There were bass schooling everywhere in Lowe's and Housen, but they were very hard to catch. With this cooler weather, the water temp should drop some and help with them moving back in the pockets. There were shad everywhere in the pockets, but not a lot of activity around them.

Also there's still a lot of grass in Housen.

Any fish being caught at 1215?

Thanks man. Staying at Fin and Feather so Housen with grass and shad is great news. Gotta think with this cooler weather it'll hopefully push a few up shallow.

I don't know, I haven't been up there. The last couple times I've been I went south.

Toledo Update Bump

Fished down there yesterday as past of a two day championship (Day 1 on Grand Bayou, Day 2 on Toledo). First time I've been on the lake since the first of May, so I didn't know what to expect. That place is on fire. Caught 30 plus fish, just fishing docks with a shaky head. No giants, but I did catch one just shy of 5. Best 5 went 15.5 or so. Can't wait to go back.

Anyone have any idea about when the lake turns over? I'm going the weekend after Thanksgiving and I'm hoping it will be done by then.

They are back up under 12ft of water pretty good. square bill crank baits around docks, grass lines, and small drop offs can probably put you 40 in the boat any day till mid November.

It was good too. Put 20 or so in the boat, but only caught about half of the bites. All on a frog in pads in 1-2 foot of water. Only weighed 10 lbs. 2 overs and 3 unders, but threw back a bunch of 2+ lb. slot fish. Saw some schooling activity on points once it warmed up a little, I just wasn't after those so I didn't fool with them. This was the first time I've ever been on GB outside of March, and I was shocked at how good it fished.

Man it was terrible for us Saturday. We caught 4 by about 7:30 and only had one other bite the rest of the day. The front blew through that morning and the north wind was blowing its arse off!
