Nothing out of the ordinary in my neck of the woods.
I am way up here in NELA, northwestern part Ouachita parish.
They have been around our place as long as I can remember(probably been around for thousands of years).
My friends & I used to camp out in the woods and get a little juiced up on the moonshine.
We would get to hooping and hollering, and they would get within a 20-30 yards from us. They would start yipping and howling back at us.
Those were days. Sighhh

Last week we moved out of Oklahoma and down to Bradenton FL. This last winter we had more coyotes on our land than any year combined. We shot several who ventured too close to the kids fenced in play areas and a few more who were stalking and baiting our dogs to the pasture and away from the house.
At night you could hear the yote pups calling for their parents. My wife remarked that it was sad to think maybe they were calling for one we had killed. She quit that line of thinking when I replied that the adults would kill our 3 and 7 year old daughters and would happily carry off our 8 month old son to feed those pups with. Her mama bear instincts kicked in and while I was out fishing 2 days before we left, she dropped the hammer on another with her AR. First time she ever took a life with a gun but I was proud of her.

They are beginning to be a problem in our area. They were always around, but lately they keep trying to bait dogs away from the houses around here. I occasionally fire a few shots to run em off.
Our largest male dog has a rather different solution. When we let him out at night he lays in the high grass in his fenced in yard and whines like a puppy.
They jump the fence one or two at a time every couple of months. Other than a few scratches on his face, it seems pretty one sided.

Ain't much to them, but, I do truly dislike those nasty suckers.

Yep, unfortunately it seems the population has increased dramatically lately.

I don't know if a fiddle will call em in or not, but I do know for a fact that when my granddaughter plays her fiddle out on the back deck, the coyotes go nuts. They start howlin and yelpin all up and down Clinch Mountain here behind our house.
