First year I haven't gone down in a long while, but I always started catching them right before shrimp season opened. Used to wrap up exams and head down and camp out.

My buddy is fishing GI today. Will report back. I called him once this am and no answer. That usually means he's catching fish.

I cleaned 100 specs yesterday caught Friday - Sunday. Weather was fricked up bad too, still managed to find some. All caught north of the island, mostly on live shrimp.

Thanks for the tips. Guess I will start in barataria and then move towards the beach? Should I launch at sand dollar or bridge side?

Sand Dollar. Closer to the Islands northeast side of GI and Grand Terre is money. Also closer to rock jetties that run parallel to GI.

Neighbor said they busted them on beach, he's running out of Fourchon so I'd image between belle and caminada.

I tried for about an hour in the surf on Sunday with the north wind and didn't get a bite. Then went north to Bay Rambo and got into a mess of fish.
