What kind of weed is this and how do I kill it? It's immune to MSMA and pulling it up is a beech

Lol I think there is some broadleaf in there too which I'm not concerned about, but this is a small part of the yard that has whatever this weed in it. It's real viney and has the purple flower coming off the top. For the most part my yard is healthy Bermuda, except for here.

yep

I've been fighting it for a couple of years now.

fertilome helps, but you need multiple treatments per year and once it gets in the summer, fertilome will also damage your grass

the best thing to do is to keep feeding your grass so that it gets thick enough to keep weeds out

Virginia buttonweed is not readily controlled by most lawn weed killers. It is one of the most difficult broadleaf lawn weeds to keep in check. A multiple active ingredient lawn weed killer that contains carfentrazone should work best. LSU AgCenter trials indicate that the best products are a combination of 2, 4-D, mecoprop, dicamba and carfentrazone - such as Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone and Ortho or Weed B Gon Max for Southern Lawns.

Get some chickens. They love to pick at crabgrass, nutssedge and broadleaf weeds. Just keep them out of your garden during tomato season.

Pulling it up doesn't kill it but perhaps can set it back enough for your grass to take over. And it can grow from clippings so mowing it probably helps it spread.
