it sucks to lay a normal size yard's worth

Yeah I would hire some fellas hanging around Home Depot it were a yards worth!

So doing that small area you think is an easy job? If you've never done it before?

I'm probably just gonna throw it in the yard and water it for 2 weeks, as has been suggested. I hope it doesn't involve a ton more work than that

Yes. I've laid a bunch of sod and hope I never have to do it again. But I'm sure I will...

it doesnt

all you do is "lay" it down and its done

make sure to snug them up against each other so you don't have lines

I'd like to stab the people who checker sod their lawn and wait 3 years for it to look halfway normal in order to save $400 after building a $400k house.

My neighbors did this and I laughed at them when they did it and was still laughing at them 3-4 years down the road when it still looked like shite.

When i first saw it, i had to immediately assume they did it for the kids benefit of hop skotching in the yard... but then i realized they are dumb cheap asses.

Use a "hard rake" to de-thatch the old grass. Have fun.

Final question.... I guess I'll just eye-ball it as for how many pieces of sod I need? And go back if I run out? I'll be sure to not be cheap and smush them all together too. Don't want my neighbors looking over the fence and seeing I'm a cheap-o.

I've seen a person's yard to where they laid sod halfway to the road and left the rest bare so it would grow all the way out and cover to the road. I slowed down and just all the way home.

Thanks for the picture, just in case there was confusion. Guess I could have thought of that on my own...

I'd like to write a big FAIL with grass killing chemical in their lawn in mid of night.

Well in their case, half in their grass and half in the dirt would be "FAIL: You suck at life".

I'm assuming this means a metal one, which I have. Not a leaf rake... Learning!

Thanks again, and I'll do it on a sunny day and work on my tan at the same time, while drinking some boat drinks. Fun coming my way.
