most of my yard is st. augustine and last year a portion got taken over by crab grass. anything I could/should do now to help the st augustine take it back? or just kill it w/ fire and start over?

also, not opposed to planting a different type of grass to mix w/ the st aug(bermuda, centipede)

I'm interested as well. Portions of my yard are in bad shape.

Need the definition of a "portion"......1/2, 1/3, 1/4? You may want to have someone cut out all the crab grass and resod with St. Aug. (I hate St. Aug).

I just wait for a rain, then go pull it the next day. Usually fill up a 5 gallon bucket or two.

Some comes back each year but since I've been pulling it the last 3 years only about 10% comes up compared to year 1.
