If you use OSB and treat/paint it’ll be fine for years. Don’t let anybody tell you different.

This and just paint it. Got some that has been on some stands a easy 10 years for the sides, not the floor.

As said before...use some osb and paint it. You'll be fine for 20 years if you paint any seal.

May not be much cheaper but hardiboard is definitely very weather resistant stuff. I know they make siding out of the same material. Get a hardiboard blade and borrow a circular saw from somebody you don't like...

You can buy 26 gauge r-panels for about $.65 sf and get a dark brown.

Try Walker Metals. They will cut them to size.

Shag carpet works well. You can use orange to blend with the fall colors or green if you are bow hunting. My father in law used to make his out of the felt they used at the paper mill. It lasted forever and blocked the wind real good. Yes he is a redneck

Genius

Makes stand light weight. Wasps aren’t attracted to that shite.

You cut rectangles and fold them down for window slits and fold them back up close when done.

I second the felt from paper mills. They come off the conveyer belt.

The sun will eat those signs in a few yrs.

Plus, that shite wold be easy to fall through if you take kids.

I vote no and would use canvas tarp over that plastic shite.

Unless prices have dropped a bunch, Painted 26ga is going to cost 1.20 linear ft. Not too long ago I was quoted about 0.65 for plain 26ga galvalume. And painted cost was about double that. Also, many places have a minumum order which is probably well beyond what the OP wants to spend if he's thinking of building stands out of election signs.

You can usually buy it from sign shops. But a sheet of it will cost more than plywood.

Old wooden fence boards make good walls for box stands. Weathered boards are damn near already camoflaged, and lighter than plywood.
