Was it actually caught in alabama waters? Or just the boat is out of the marina in Alabama I'm assuming? I mean I'm asssuming it wasn't caught in Alabama state waters either way? Just seems kinda odd I guess for a pelagic caught no where close to the state to be a state record. Hell of a fish either way.

I was at the marina the other day and there was a guy with a 40ish foot sportfisher a very nice boat but nothing extravagent and he was telling us he heard a knock and had his mechanic out and it was going to be a $80,000 rebuild. He was pissed because he was just down for another maintenance item for a couple of months, and he said the money doesn't matter as its a hobby he loves its that he has to spend the money for another couple months being boatless again.

Your average dude can't comprehend the costs required to own one of those boats and keep it operational. It's a whole different class of wealth required.

I mated on a 125 Fedship for several years.
We could flush money down the toilet and it didn't matter and nobody noticed...

I have a tiny single engine 25'bay boat and will be working on it all day tomorrow just pouring money into it.

I dont even want to imagine the cost of maintain a huge boat like that

No..
Fedship. Google Fedship Orion and you'll see it.
Owner was the first guy to ever kill a Bighorn Sheep with a Bow.
Russ Saragusa...not sure if I spelled the name correct.

A grander in the US??? Rare anywhere in the world. I think there are about 20 a year caught globally. The first one was in 1930.
