Advice on Air Tools

My new location gives me access to shop air, which I've never had before.
Looking to get a few tools.
Advice on any brands to avoid and what tools might be considered must haves.
I have a few big trucks and a few pieces of commercial equipment, that hopefully this will help me keep a better handle on.

IR makes some of the best stuff. From my experience, stay away from the quiet tool (QT) ones. They break a lot
Oil the tools every once in a while

MATCO and IR make very good impacts and ratchets. MATCO's reactionless 3/8" ratchet will spoil you. Die grinders, drills, cutoff wheels are less brand-dependent. With cordless impacts now though I don't have a need for a heavy duty air impact. Having a good FR on the line to the tools is more important than the big name brands though as is keeping them lubed with proper air tool oil. Motor oil is not a substitute.

He's always pickin on somebody!
I'm kinda thinking the IR and Matco tools might be more of an investment than I'm... well, you know what I mean!
They'll probably get used once a month or so.

Well, heck the IR wrenches can be had for about $150. Not too bad.
I'm hoping that 1/2" would work for most applications?

Good tools keep their value for those who know, I always buy a few after I learn how good something is cause they will dang sure quit making them that good.

Their midgrade stuff is also pretty good. IIRC, I have the 231 Ingersoll Rand impact. It has held up pretty well after 10 or so years, but you might need something much bigger for working on equipment
The only other high quality things you'll need are ratchet and spray gun. Everything else can me midgrade

The Harbor Freight Earthquake(red) 1/2" impact and 3/8" ratchet I have do what I need around my home shop. Price is right with a coupon. Avoid all the HF non-earthquake impacts and ratchets.
