Any of y'all know anyone in LA who is knowledgeable about repairing old welding machines? I got my hands on a Lincoln SA-200-F-163 welder/generator and would like to know what I need to do get it purring again. From what I've gathered, these are pretty sought after. Any info would be appreciated

Serial number: A-643348 (I think it's a redface, but not positive)
Model code: 6792
Year: 1969

I'll be getting it fixed up cosmetically, just need someone who really knows these old rigs to help me get it running again. Thanks again yall

It will be a 3 part journey

Get the Diesel engine running

Get the generator back to making electricity

Cosmetics

Plenty of mechanics around to work on the diesel end. They are simple engines.

Weldingweb

Believe it or not there are folks out there that restore welding machines as a hobby

Yeah- the spark plugs are visible in the top two pics.

I would recommend selling it as is. As with most "projects," you will probably end up putting more money in it than you will get out of it.

There's an old man in thibodaux that fixes those things, he must have 20 of those in his yard for parts.

I cleaned it up a little bit.

New stainless hood, rebuilt the starter, new alternator, all new gaskets and seals. My brother accidentally threw away the oil pan but once I get that replaced next week I should have video of her running

The skeeter is primed and ready for paint. Trying to get rid of a few things so I can pick up the simrad go7, power pole micro and teak decks. It’s basically done though
