If i have a couple products that are available online, but they dont have in my local store that i want to exchange for something else but have no receipt. How big of hassle are we talking? Boxes never opened

Shouldn't be a big hassle. They'll likely only return them for the lowest value they've been sold for in the last 30-60 days though.

Exchanges should be fine. Cash back probably wouldn't fly.

Academy will literally let you return anything. When i say anything, i mean ANYTHING. Old and defective merchandise. ANYTHING. Store credit or exchange.

I have heard about a friend exchanging a lot of things not even purchased at academy for store credit.

It depends on the manager working, or the cashier, the store credit can be revoked the second you walk out the door though. If they know 100% that you didn't purchase the items through an academy, they will take back the store credit and that card becomes useless.

They will take back anything. I bought an atv battery from them, had to fill the cells with acid and charge, did not fit in battery box. Brought it back, I told them that the I had added the acid and put charge on battery. I think I might have ended up making money on that deal.

I ordered waders online, wore them hunting, and returned them muddy and wet. They were way too small. No issues with cash return. There was another pair of muddy waders on the shelf when I went to see what sizes they had.

People did this with fishing rods a lot. Now its hard to find rods with lifetime warranties. People taking advantage of leniency screw it up for everyone else.

Speaking of rods, Academy used to have a pretty good selection. Its now crap. I miss when All Star, Castaway, and Falcon all made great rods. Falcon is still pretty good.

No kidding. Every time I go in my local Academy, I am amazed at the piss poor rod selection.
