Hey guys, any help would be appreciated here.

I drive a with miles, all put on by me. I'm getting 2 lights, ABS and Traction Control. Both come on after about 10 yards of driving. I am also getting a wicked shimmy when braking, I can feel it start in the front and work its way to the back calipers as I come to a stop. It is also causing the right front caliper to clamp harder than it should, I can hear it squeal at the tail end of the stop (usually when I'm braking downhill).

Does this sound like the ABS module? I didn't know if there were any other sensors inside the wheel that I should be concerned about. I'd like to just pull this module out and have it refurbished.

Please help before I pull this thing out and send it off for nothing. Thanks guys

Could be the pump. You can have the codes for the ABS light pulled by someone with a good code scanner.

I just got back from having it scanned at Auto Zone, and they didn't get any returns.

Sounds like the rotors are burnt/warped. I would first start doing a full brake job all around. Then disconnect the battery for 30+ seconds. If lights don't clear, rescan.

I had the rotors, brakes, and front left hub replaced 6 months ago. :(

edit: I will disconnect battery, though. See if anything resets itself. Thanks

Edit: clarification

Disconnected battery for a couple of minutes.
Cranked car, turned wheel right, then came back left and it triggered the lights. Damn.

I'm wondering if it's a sensor in one of the front wheels. I kind of want to pull the wheels off and clean those ABS sensors before I go to a mechanic. Anyone had any luck with that?

Did you check/flush your fluid when you did the brakes? New car's computer do some weird shite sometimes when very basic problems arise

Could be an issue with the sensor. They get coated with with brake dust and metal. I always pull mine and hit them with a little brake cleaner when I replace pads.

Check the wheel speed sensors first, and get your rotors turned. If i recall the module is actually built on the pump so you would have to replace the assembly. And go salvage before you go reman. Very important part to not be going OEM, or you can go reman and put your life in the hands of low paid foreign labor.

Check the wiring to see if there is any wear thru it. You might be grounding out.

'preciate the input, guys. Gonna see what cleaning these sensors does then drop it off at the mechanic.

this is absolutely what's going on.
Bad hub bearing, warped rotors, wheel speed sensor bad.
