Don’t eat it all at once or a lot of it yourself, big makos have high mercury content and you can get mercury poisoning if you eat too much. Had a friend as a poor student someone gave him a big mako and he ate it and had a case of mercury poisoning – good news is you can flush it out w /exercise and water but it’s a bad neurotoxin. They are at top of the food chain and get it thru bioaccumulation of being a top predator and living a long time

I seriously meant the first comment as a compliment. The second part was quoting an old Adam Sandlar skit with a gratuitous use of the F word since his original "frick off" comment seemed to be a little over the top.

There was a big one caught in the canyon this weekend too. Last weekend a buddy out of Venice had one ripping his tuna in half at the boat. I guess they move our way this time of year.

Mako is one of the few species that doesn't "piss" through its skin. It's good vittles.
