grouper doesnt get bad as it gets big like other fish

I find this to be the case with just about every offshore fish. Snapper, grouper, cobia, mahi, tuna, wahoo, etc... Do any of them get worse with size? I've never noticed if so.

I'll go "damn good." Gag is great. Warsaw is damn good. I've never had one that large, though.

AJ----- they are not good ( from my experiences) when they are big........ not saying they cant be, but if i gotta try that hard I'd rather not at all.

Yeah, they get a lot of blood meat when they get big, but it's still solid grilled.

You think a grouper that is that big taste any good?

Warsaw isn't the best tasting grouper but it should be good to eat.

I would much prefer a scamp or black grouper. Yellowedge is probably my favorite.

we had some guys in a center console that caught 2 one trip. the limit was one per boat so they gave us one.

it was about 100lbs. not very tasty compared to scamps and hinds we caught. also had a big yellowfin grouper that was tasty.

Meh. I catch my limit of 400lb groupers every Saturday night at the local waterin' hole.

Haha, what kind of boat gave you the grouper? I've given a few away to other boats and rigs. They're going to die anyway if you try to release them

The big ones are a bitch to clean and I usually give those bags to friends
