Go handle a Ruger Gun Sight Rifle. It's a bolt action and not a semi, but mine just handles great.

I've always wanted one! What kind of scope do you have on yours?

Bought a Mini 30 2 months ago. It's a shame I haven't even shot it yet.

Venom Tactical Custom Rifles
Each Venom Tactical custom sniper rifle starts off as a stock Remington 700 rifle, however the similarities quickly end. The stock Remington is quickly disassembled and every part of the rifle’s firing mechanism - the bolt, firing pin, cartridge, chamber, and barrel are perfectly aligned. Both the rifles barrel and the bolt are replaced with custom creations that allow for much higher accuracy and durability. The rifle is then meticulously bedded in a Manners composite stock, which will be custom fit to be the most comfortable rifle stock you can have.
Accurate long distance shooting requires the perfect rifle, the perfect fit and flawless optics. Without all these crucial alignments, both repeatability and accuracy suffer. At Venom Tactical, meticulous machining, innovative gun smithing and obsessive attention to detail set us apart from the competition in creating the world’s most accurate custom made sniper rifle.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's a hell of a deal for an AR10. And it comes with 3 mags and a duffel carry bag. It's a tough deal to beat.
Here is what Hickok45 thinks about it:

The Ruger 308 AR's have problems with PMAGS, as in they dont work. Look into another 308 AR if cheap quality mags are something you want. From what I understand the latest Rugers have been refined and do work with the PMAG. I would contact Ruger and get a serial number range of rifles where this issue has been resolved.

An easy option is to build a nice 308 AR. There are two different patterns and many parts are not interchangeable, however, many parts work both with AR15's and 308 AR's.
For example:
TM-10 Lower $230
TM Upper $200 (without parts and no foward assist)
Barrel $320
BCG NiBo $240
Thats the jist but will need handguard, ar15 midlenght gas tube, ar15 gas block, LPK, get a nice trigger, buffer tube assm., stock, and a few other parts and your are gtg for les than 2k

Is this a well documented problem? Never heard of it.

Yes, the gen2 pmags work. Gen 3 do not. Magpul made slight dimensional differences in the mags (g2 vs g3). Ruger became aware of the problem and is said to have corrected it with the newer rifles. The SR762 has/had some minor dimensional differences as ruger likes to do that sort of thing. Plenty info on 308 forums. I would check to see what serial number started the "newer" run and go with that.
Also, if weight is an issue I would go with DI rather than the piston on the Ruger.

I don't know why but I hate the Scar buttstock. Feels cheap and I just can't get comfortable shooting it. I like the way the 308 AR feels.

Nobody has suggested a 300 Blackout?

While 300BO has its uses, being a battle rifle cartridge is not one of them. 6.5 Grendel would be better suited as a battle rifle cartridge over 300BO. However, if the intention is suppressed fire under 200m 300 BO is what you may be after. I'd stick with 308/7.62NATO for a proper battle rifle cartridge.
If you plan on reloading the brass stay away from the HK and HK clones as they eat brass. M1A's and SR25 pattern 308 AR's are great ergonomic rifles with many options. I love a FAL but the crappy sites and ergos are tough to deal with.
