Ford is promising more power and torque than the 6.2L in the outgoing truck. Talking to some contacts, it might not be just a little bit more than the previous truck, but a lot more. How much? I’m not sure yet

I get the nostalgia of it, but I don't understand why people get butthurt about losing 2 cylinders and gaining more power.

The only problem I could see that's worth complaining about is turbo lag.

Paw in law's 3.5 blew the doors off my 6.2 with only a canned tune. Turbo lag is nonexistent with a tuner and barely there without.

What were the specs on that Ford 6.2?

Just curious how it would compare to GM's 6.2.

10-speed automatic tranny

Holy crap that's a lot of gears. That's my old transmission and my new one put together.

Everybody's going to the multi-gears.

CAFE requirements (fuel economy).

A lot of manufacturers are sharing designs to keep development costs down.

Pretty sure Ford and GM have transmissions in the pipe that are joint projects. Hell, Nissan and Toyota will be sharing the same diesel engine in their trucks pretty soon so I can only imagine what the marketing will be like...
