Drove into Destin today. As we are driving in the brake pedal locked up. Had to damn near stand on the brake to stop the vehicle . At high speeds it brakes with no problem. This only happened in stop and go and low speeds. Any ideas on what I may be dealing with ?
Thanks as always OB

Definition of locked up??
As in no response from brake when you push it in. Or it locked pushed in and you had to push it in further to unlock?

Like the pedal wouldn't push down

Sounds like it may be something with the brake booster and not enough vacuum.
Cursory - check the hose connections at booster and manifold.
Will probably need a more detailed inspection, though.

So much now regarding ABS is tied up in the on board computer. Unfortunately it may need a dealer diagnosis. Still under warranty?

sounds like an issue with the vacuum booster...the big round disk mounted on the firewall of the engine compartment. if that is the issue, it shouldn't be much of a deal to fix.

I think and I hope you're right . Here in Destin until Monday then back to Houston. Hoping they make us a priority. Had to take it to a Goodyear 3 miles from our rental house. Couldn't risk driving back down to Ft Walton to a dealership with no brakes potentially.
