Looking to buy a 6hp outboard for a small boat. I know 4 strokes are more fuel efficient, but that isn't a big issue for this scenario. Is a 2 stroke less maintenance down the line?

I like how quiet the small 4s are. No idea on maintenance.

In that size, have you considered a Lehr propane outboard?

I've been reading about them and like the idea a lot. Supposedly crank first pull every time. No worries about bad gas or ethanol. Efficient and can even use the Coleman style mini bottles for short trips.

I'm considering one.
