My dad's farm truck is having issues. I haven't driven it, but he's telling me it's hard to press brake pedal, but once it gives in it will allow you to brake. Happens in this sequence with every stop. Fluid is full, and he cannot find any leaks. Brake booster?? And if so, how difficult would it be for us to tackle ourselves?

Sounds like it could be the booster but check for for vacuum leaks on the line to the booster before you change it or any vacuum leak for that matter. Vacuum is where the assist comes from.

If you do have to change it, they're not normally that hard to change. I've never changed one on that model vehicle but it's pretty straightforward. Probably two nuts to remove the master cylinder and 2 more for the booster, which might be on the inside firewall?

Appreciate the help. I'm gonna try to get over there tomorrow to help him take a look at it.

Have you applied a healthy coating of Plastidip to the wheels? Something to look in to.
