Hunting over a pond in my new set up

Hope like hell if I do shoot the deer doesn't go in the water. Way to cold to fish one out.

Good luck OB and be safe.

Good luck out there this morning guys. I had to come home yesterday evening and have been on baby duty since 4am. Fire is rolling in the house and breakfast is prepared for the rest of the clan when they wake up. I've watched four episodes of Bone Collector so far this morning. I'd like to hang out with T-Bone for a weekend.

That was mean. Hopefully he doesn't pass wind today and scare them off.

Oh wait . . . he said the wind whipped around and they smelled him. My bad.

I've left a gun at home before. About 20 years ago, my dad and I got up and headed to Norwood to hunt. We got there early , got the three wheelers unloaded and find that there are no guns in the truck. We didn't even have a pistol. Well, we argued about who forgot them and loaded the three wheelers back up. We were home before daylight. Good times

Isn't it something that what you forget is the most crucial thing?

Doing the same this morning with my 4 month old to let sick wife rest. Based on reports from my lease, it doesn't sound like I'm missing much.

Tate county Ms
Oak flat near cypress break
Cold and breezy
45-70

I have never forgotten my gun,but Friday I left my bullets at home. Wal-Marks didn't have any 45-70, so I just walked and scouted for ducks. Walked up on a doe feeding at about 75 yards.

Serious case of red arse here. Why in the world would a grown arse man be proud of killing 2 spikes in one hunt and the jack asses wonder why we don't have good deer. I wish deer hunting with dogs was banned

So funny guys!

I wish I was better at being a meat hunter. I'm wanting to get some ground meat made but just let 3 does walk because it's kinda close to rut and there is a very slim chance something may be behind them.

We're just jerking your chain. I felt terrible for you yesterday when you discovered you left your gun. I have done stupid stuff like that a bunch of times, and it is a miserable feeling. The upside for you is that you were alone. At least you didn't have some other person blaming you for forgetting.

Hope you have success.

FWIW, I am female and do not hunt. But my brothers were big hunters.

This time of year I usually leave my rifle in my truck since it stays parked between hunts. It got wet last weekend so I brought it in to clean it and just stuck it in the case. Grabbing a gun a 4am isn't part of my normal routine

Did have a big doe just cruise across in front of me. She dead
