I hit the grunt call twice and he came running into the field on a string. He got to 60 yards and I let the slug eat. He ran maybe 50 yards and folded up. I'm impressed with the gun now.

What kind of gun you got? Were you hunting public land?

Think he was using a 20 ga slug.

Now the "4" in "4LSU2" stands for $4 20 gauge slugs

I bought the 20 GA H&R Handi-rifle after I was invited on this hunt a few months ago. We are on private property.

Good job. Glad I recommended those accutips. That gun is a sweet shooter and puts a hurting on a deer.

Made a quick hunt in Montegut this morning. Saw lots of birds but they wouldn't work. Brought a buddy from Buffalo and this was his first hunt. He was able to get 3 ducks all flying. We knocked down 7 but couldn't find one dogris. We went 7/7 on ducks we shot at. Not a bad first duck hunt.

Now off to Oxford, MS

Just FYI all the marsh East of Madison Bay is leased; that's not public land

But yeah we were East of Madison

Accutip is on point. Thanks for the help!!

Back in the stand for the evening hunt after a trip to town to purchase a few doe tags for $25 a piece. This has now turned into a meat hunt after this morning's events. Ole Geauxt wants a half dozen does for tamales, so I'm going to give em hell until the others tag out.

That would make enough tamales to feed the state.

In a tree near woodville ms
Surprisingly warm considering how cold it'll be tomorrow and the next day.

Thanks Baw. This is the hunt I killed on 2 years ago.
I could use similar luck tonight.
Would take some of them ribs again too.
