Picked up a ruger 10/22 from academy the other day and finally got the chance to go and shoot it today and I couldn't get the mag that came with it to hold more than 3 rounds, and then on top of that, it didn't want to feed them.

I believe I was using some Remington ammo thats rated for 1280. Is this a common issue with these? pretty disappointed, thought they where supposed to be more reliable.

PS: shot a m&p 15/22 at the range and it shot great, so if I can't seem to solve this issue, which I think is mag related, I'll be purchasing one of those.

I own 3 10/22's and I can't say that I have ever had a problem with a one of them. I have mainly used CCI mini mags in my 10/22's, but wouldn't think that would. Make that much a difference.

Get a new mag and try it.

Or I'll by that defective 10/22 from you. Don't want you worrying about it.

Don't give up on the 10/22 yet. Try a different magazine first.

That will most like fix your problems. If it does call ruger and I'll bet they'll replace the messed up mag.

Same here. One has been used to beat briars, small limbs, find trot lines, etc. On a very ,very rare occasion I've had FTE...when rapid firing. Replace the mag.
