First IST I've started.
I'm heading to sherburne today.
I found a good spot yesterday.
Saw 9 does and ended up dropping one with my bow.
Found a good rub I plan on hunting if no one else is in the area.
I'll be in my climber with my PSE xforce shooting a 100gr G5 montec
That's the 2nd deer I've killed with my bow and they both dropped using the montec. I shot 2 deer a couple years back using a G5 T3 mechanical and lost both deer. The blood trails just ended and never recovered either deer but the montec drops them In their tracks.
Had a woodcock hunter come up on me yesterday, maybe Wick? Nice guy though.
Anybody else doing any hunting today?

Good luck, heading to the camp tomorrow for a week. Rut should be in full swing.

I know it's the rut but I can't imagine bucks chasing in this heat.

I'll leave this option open to a fellow OBer. I have work tonight and don't have time to clean a deer if I kill. I will meet anyone in wbr or iberville parish, you clean the deer and we split it 50/50. If anyone wants to take me up on that let me know. If not, I know a couple guys that will but they don't NEED the meat. So if you need it, post your number or email and I'll be in touch if I kill.

Winds 8-12 mph this morning. Terrible for slinging arrows.

if you have the time to drive anywhere in 1 or 2 parishes, then you have time to clean a deer

I hunt in iberville and live in wbr. It doesn't take long to drive through these little parishes. It also gives other people the opportunity to get some deer meat in their freezer. I didn't think it was a bad deal for someone who hasn't killed.

Yea I looked up and she was eating browse at 35 yards. She attempted to cross the power line but a 150 grain hornady hit her neck before she could

Didn't see anything today. I guess the wind had a lot to do with it. Oh well, I'll give it another shot tomorrow.

Just settled into a ladder stand in Melville, La.
Warmest 56° I've ever felt
Slight wind out of the northeast
Traditions 50 cal smoke pole

Looking for big bone only.
My old man is across the lease looking for any mature deer... he said he's mad (he hasn't seen a deer in stand since bow season)
