I’ve noticed that events that the US used to dominate in the past as far as freestyle stuff we were winning in the past, and in a lot of events, aren’t even placing. Other countries have caught up to us. When it all first started we were the leaders, mainly because we invented it. Canada was always right there, but the European countries are taking over. Even china and Japan

The price of lift tickets has priced a lot of gifted athletes out of participating in skiing/snowboarding events in the US. Not the same in other countries.

Got 16 now. In 3rd after the cheating bastards. Most of their wins are in shite competitions too. Same with Norwegians, although I am Norwegian and Swedish. Cross country and biathlon. If we get black people in these sports we will take over

We are third in count and golds. We will likely wind up third in the overall count and maybe 2nd in golds which may depend on beating Canada in Women's Hockey. The ROC is overachieving and will be in the hunt for 2-4th in medals just like Canada and the US. Right now I think Canada ends up with 29 medals, the US 28 and the ROC 26. We will beat Canada in golds but likely not Germany.
In the end my prediction is
Norway 1-1 medals golds
Canada 2-4 medals golds
US 3-3 medals golds
Germany 5-2 medals golds
ROC 4-5 medals golds

Norway and ROC are racking up their medals in cross country, biathlon, etc. like a shite ton. Just drill down on the medals they won. I think African Americans could whip them if they ever got interested given the strength of their legs

What would the medal count look like if you took all the medals from the dirty Russian dopers and awarded them to clean athletes?

You'd have to look event by event. You also run into the problem of not knowing what you don't know. Like in the events with prelims/finals they could have bumped someone out of the competition who might have put up a big score/time but didn't have that chance. I did look at the math with the team figure skating though. With the Russian girl DQ'd it will drop them into a tie with Japan for silver and elevate the US to gold.
As for Norway they had a great segment about the country's attitude towards sports in Olympic Gold tonight. Basically it's ILLEGAL to keep performance records on kids. Skiing is something commonly done daily and it's done for fun. It's the step beyond "everybody gets a medal" and would not work with the youth sports "industrial complex" that we have here. (I love the Winter Olympics because I grew up very Norwegian.)
