Kajungee, how was the water down there? Do you know if anyone went further offshore, like in the 20 - 30 mile range? I can't remember when the federal closure started so obviously there's no point in going now, but maybe they went before the closure.

I was down the weekend before last like I said.

7th,8th,9th.

really we saw very few people going out and most we talked to were fishng inside.

made a quick run to the 7 mile rigs and the water was dirty.

But other than that the island never looked nicer IMO

shame the place was so quiet

Not true. There was oil along the entire beach, but not a lot and very little on the eastern end where the BTNEP people were raking the beach. You had to know what you were looking for to notice it. Wasn't slicks or sheens.

My father in law has a camp down there - fished the bay yesterday and slammed the trout. said it was a nice day on the water.
