Not to mention when they bought all of Devon's offshore assets they had to aquire Mariner just to have the manpower to do it. Thay are making a strong push. Hope they don't over extend.

We just bought Devon in April for $1.05 billion cashola on the 12th. Then turned around and then merged with Mariner on the 15th.
Well over 900 platforms in The Gulf right now and the biggest lease holder - BY FAR!!!
When I did my first job for Apache, they had 4 platforms in The Gulf so they are rockin' & rollin'.
They also just direct hired about 100 Island Operators platform hands - Those cats will be rollin' in the yearly bonuses.

I assume you meant buying Devon's shelf assets?

Sorry yes, They did keep all their onshore property as the company decided at the first of the year to put all their focus into strictly land work. I know a bunch of company men that went with them up to the Dallas area.
Devon was an awesome company to work for as well. They believed in the bonus program and never seemed to mind sharing the wealth.

You are obviously affiliated with APA. Is that something you can talk about? They are a good customer of mine in the GOM.

10 - 1 says you and I probably already know each other or have run into each other. I worked on the drilling side for APA my first 10 years offshore before working for them exclusively for the last 5 years. Who do you peddle tools for?

Haha :) I am a boat guy, although I don't do any drilling operations with them. Only construction and production.
