The lawyers say that the loss of renters is loss of income so there is a claim. (I don't rent so it does not affect me) I don't think owning ocean front property means oil spills are to be expected. Hurricanes are the norm because that is the ocean/nature at work. Oil spills are a little more unexpected. Either way, no oil in Orange Beach yet so I am happy :) (No offense to the La. marshlands, hope you guys are spared as well)

all i know is the LA ethics regulators are supposedly watching lawyers here like hawks
i don't know how much good it will do
in SWLA our people aren't affected yet, so i haven't heard much rumblings...yet

there are commercials all over tv in New Orleans from the typical ambulance chasers. Someone needs to kick them all in the nads....I wouldn't use anyone that did not have offshore pollution experience.

I would just chaulk it up to one of the risks of owning beachfront property.
Yeah. Getting hit by a drunk driver is just one of the risks of getting in a car on a public road, too.

I completely understand the risk of being a property owner. That being said, if you are doing business and have a negative impact that is within your realm of control (I am sure this will be chalked up to some sort of negligence) and you wipe out my business, there should be some responsibility from that negligent owner. The trickle down on this is soooo great, the dollar impact may never be recognized.
