is there a case against the BP rig boss for the 11 dead?

what is happening, in the legal system?

manslaughter?

I have never heard one word about a case. I am surprised since 11 people died, and there was a lot of chatter on TD that there was a heated discussion between TransO people and the BP rig boss, right before ka-boom.

Does a TD attorney (or someone in the industry)
know whether such a case is being created, or if the FBI is involved or what?
Thanks.

Otto, in all seriousness I've come to think of you as this movie character (not the one with the incredible breasts).

There are a shitload of cases being created and attempted to be created. Don't fret.

Serious question, how many were charged with manslaughter when the last airplane accidentally went down in the US? Coal mine explosion? Bungee Jump accident?

I'm sorry but accidents happen a lot and, in a free society, criminal charges are rarely brought. That is why we have a civil court system to address these incidents.

I have a hard time seeing how they could prove a criminal case, civil, very probable.

What state even has jurisdiction 50 miles out into the Gulf?

If it is the same as it is with the regs I would say Federal.

It is sad when people die due to accidents, but it is criminal when they die due to negligence. BP has a history of skirting the rules and having bad results (Texas refinery years ago).
