Mine would be
Warhammer 40K (Probably top 5 all time tbh) -tons of depth, no real protagonist.
Star Wars- Very alrge universe before Disney decided to nuke it. Hope they bring back the glory days.
Halo - Fairly young universe but very descriptive and my childhood also.
Gundam is cool people too.

Do you consider your parent's basement a separate universe?

The AvP universe is pretty cool but I would say it needs more depth to it for it to be respected. It is getting up there though with Prometheus adding to the lore and them somewhat expanding it slowly.

Farscape has to be up there.
ETA:
A modernized rendering of the Buck Rogers universe would be cool as well.
Fringe Red-verse.

Asimov's robot/empire/foundation universe
Herbert's dune universe
It's hard to pick a third. I'm drawing a blank.
Eta: after reading some of the responses there are some good ideas. Maybe DBZ. Maybe Starcraft. Maybe aliens. Maybe Battlestar Galactica.

I never got into Dune and have heard many good things about it.
Also heard things about H.P. Lovecraft that seems interesting also.
