I'm forbidden to associate with non-tonsil people.

I was like 16 and my doctor told me I had the worst tonsils he had ever seen. My pediatrician didn't refer me to an ENT until like the 6th time in one year that I had tonsillitis.

The doctor told me after the surgery that he went to cut them out and couldn't get a grip on them and when he finally did get a grip and make a cut, they exploded. Then he had to cauterize them the rest of the way.

He told me I was going to be in excruciating pain but I don't remember it being that bad AT ALL. I was calling people from my hospital room and talking to them and I ate a lot of popsicles.

ETA: I have a fairly high pain tolerance.

First day was great; didn't feel anything. The next 6-8 days were terrible. I just drank the liquid hydrocodone out of the bottle.

At some point, I watched Rat Race and thought it was the funniest movie I'd ever seen. Hydrocodone is pretty powerful.

It was the only T & A that didn't make me smile.

Do everyone's tonsils explode when they get cut into? He felt so bad he upped my pain meds and checked in on me A LOT. I couldn't take the pain meds because it made me feel too loopy.

That is the best part. I remember a lot of Grateful Dead and drifting in and out of reality
