Some creationists are mocking flat earthers for taking the Bible too literally. The Friendly Atheist blog flagged a video produced by Answers in Genesis featuring scientists Georgia Purdom and Danny Faulkner, who laughed out loud at theories floated by people who believe the world is actually flat.

I wonder what The Friendly Atheist blog's motivation here is. Hmmm...

Educate yourselves, sheeple.

What Is Some Of The Evidence You Have?

There are several readily apparent proofs of the planets flatness. The horizon always rises to meet eye level - which is impossible on a ball earth. The surfaces of bodies of water has been shown to be level. If the Earth was a Globe, this would not be the case. There is no visible curvature to the horizon even from airplanes. We don't even have a full shot of the Earth rotating from space! One almost has to ask - is there any real evidence the Earth is a Globe?

Our Library also has a great selection of books that further detail proof of the planar Earth.

Within my Father's house, there are many degrees of stupid.
If it were not so, wouldn't I have not told you differently?

It's as bad as the creationist and the Evolution people.

There is absolutely Zero proof either one is 100% fact. Yet they both argue, with the Evolution people being the worst.

I believe it's some where in between, and don't give 2 fricks. I came from my daddys ball sack and mothers fertile eggs.

If the earth was flat, then why can't I see far away cities from mountain tops?

Oh, wait, I can.

I don't think the Bible describes the earth as flat. THe only place I know of (there could be others, I am not really a bible scholar) is Job 26:7

quote:

He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.

wut

Let's say that I actually haven't seen the curvature from the window seat of a high altitude transatlantic flight. If the Earth was flat, international travel would take WAY longer. I'm trying to think of the most relevant example - I'm guessing it would be going from Australia to Chile or something.

I know dick about flat-earth people. But I wonder how they get around the fact that they believe the Earth is flat, but it's pretty clear the moon and Sun is round?

Do they believe they are flat discs?

This was a commonly held belief (may still be) at one time. Essentially Aristotle's prime mover concept. God created everything, gave the universe a shove and the rest is the result of those movements, which can include evolution. Not a new or novel concept, I knew a professor of archaeology who subscribed to the concept.
