Before he set out he could choose how much manual/auto time he wants, I assume he could do 100% auto? If that's the case, on a long road trip could he just set his destination then kick back with a cooler and get ripped?

I don't understand why car companies are trying to get fully 100% self driving cars.

Enhance cruise control so that it drives cars while on the interstates and then enhance surface street performance.

Who would love driving a motor home that could self drive the interstate portions of a trip?

Did you watch the video? Apparently not.

I wasn't evading, I tried to pull over, I swear!! But it was set to manual and I couldn't gain consciousness fast enough to hold the wheel buttons for 3 seconds to set to manual.

I did watch the video. I was commenting on the car companies and Google's approach to be going all in on 100% self driving cars right out the gate.

I like Bosch's approach to limit the autonomous driving on the more predictable interstate portions of the trip.

It is more realistically achievable than Google's which requires extensive data to be housed in the car before a trip can be made.

I can guarantee that even in a completely self driven car it will be illegal to drink in the vehicle. Bosch's current system is only automated for intra and interstate driving I believe.

On a side note. It will be the easiest car ever to hotbox while moving.
