I'm proud to be from South Louisiana.

But I'm happy I live somewhere else (NC for me too)

The wife and I want to move back in the next couple years to be close to family, but we struggle to find a anything comparable to the quality of life we have in Charlotte right now.

bruh... people don't move away from LA (or bash it) because they don't like the culture. They move because it is very difficult for most people to obtain a good QOL. The economy is pathetic, the schools are terrible, the infrastructure is subpar, and the demographics are the worst.

It's a bad place to live by any quantitative measure.
