Speaking of July 4, I'm walking along the Strand in Hermosa Beach on July 4, maybe 1973. I'm with this girl I go to school with--an absolute stunning blond beauty.
So we're walking along and I notice every single person on the beach staring at me. At first I think to myself, "is my dick hanging out?" and "did I forget to wear a bathing suit?"
Then I realize--they're not staring at me, but the girl I'm with--I mean every single one of the 300,000 people on that beach were lazered in on this chick.
One of the stranger experiences I've had in life.

Uh, actually ... yes, a few times over that weekend. We kind of wound up together among a larger circle of friends and she spent a couple nights with me at my parents house.
That's about it. A couple months later we went to a Jackson Brown concert together--and, spotting her in the crowd, Jackson invited her to his post-concert party. That's about the last time I saw her, although I didn't carry a grudge--she wasn't my gf, and she was only doing what any other chick would've done in that situation.
FWIW, we've reconnected on Facebook--damn if she doesn't look just fine at age 59. Still got the Sweedish blond thing going.

I am late forties. But, yeah, I have seen some smoking Baby Boomer women in this town. That older wisdom but still look fricking hot as hell. And flirtier than younger women. It may be some kind of Oedipus complex I have but I just find these women so fricking sexy. I know I am fricked up.

I've met a few notables in social situations but the only one that really intimidated me was Kris Kristofferson. He's A LOT cooler than me.
I had a bag of the finest sticky stink in my pocket after a round of golf in NC when I was introduced to and shook hands with then SCOTUS nominee John Roberts. I wasn't intimidated so much as anxious to get away from him and his US Marshal escort.
