You come across a snake while doing yardwork. Dead or alive?

This one didn't survive as I severed his head off with a hoe. He was darkish brown, looked at me intensely and one of had to go.

Alive, unless I know for sure they're venomous and are a direct threat. I'm not afraid of snakes like some girly bitch.

Depends on the kind. Poisonous = dead. Otherwise I leave them alone.

only good snake is a dead snake...I don't give a frick about color, head shape, what it eats, venomous, non venomous....doesn't matter...fricking dead

I'm not a millennial, so I let them live if it's not venomous. If it's poisonous, I will more than likely terminate.

Ughhh. Most likely, I run inside & hope it goes away quickly. Not sure I could bring myself to kill it. Not out of altruism, but rather fear.

I don't kill them.
I'm not some dumb redneck from the outdoor board that kills them all regardless

Most snakes won't hurt you. Even Copperheads are timid and generally try to avoid humans.

I burned the bushes with gasoline and still shot a baby cottonmouth after it went in the bushes. Stood guard watching from a few feet away while they burned and when he came slithering out I shot it twice.
My wife was pissed. The bushes never grew back.

You realize that king snakes (which are no threat to people) kill and eat other snakes, right?
By killing king snakes you increase the likelihood you'll run into a snake that's venomous.

Non-venomous, catch and release.
Venomous, catch and release with an adrenaline rush.
